About Us

Our mission

Little Big Screen @ Gullane Village Hall aims to being a broad selection of wonderful films to our village hall, for everyone to enjoy. Our programme celebrates quality films from the local to the global; home-grown to mainstream. Little Big Screen is a project of Gullane Community Association , run by volunteers.

Film shows

Our films are free and everyone is welcome. We generally show two films each month – a family matinee and an evening show for teens and adults – from September to June, in Gullane Village Hall. We also run extra films when we can! Films are a mix of old favourites, blockbusters, world cinema and films for kids and young people. Donations are welcome and all go to make our Village Hall even better.

Young people below the film’s Age Certification can’t be admitted, so please bring photo ID – find out about screening guidelines at www.bbfc.co.uk. Young people under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Refreshments are on sale, but please feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Hot drinks are free and are Fair Trade.

Getting to our films

We are keen to help reduce Gullane’s carbon footprint, so if you can, please come on foot or share a lift.

Local films

We love to showcase home-grown films by local people or about East Lothian. Do you know of any local films and perhaps have a copy in DVD or digital format?

A little history

We launched in December 2011 after the audio visual equipment was upgraded through the Village Hall’s Hub for All project.

  • In 2011/12, 299 people of all ages enjoyed 15 film experiences and generously donated £4,325.
  • In 2013/14: 1,159 people of all ages came to 13 films and special events and generously donated £3597.
  • After expenses, together we have contributed £4492 to our Village Hall and over £500 to charity.
